We address gaps in employment by collaborating with businesses to create inclusive and accessible workplaces. AEFN hosts the annual Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) IDEA Conference and provides ongoing events, resources, and community connections. Funded by the Government of Alberta.\nThis session introduces AEFN and its services, demonstrating how we help businesses of all sizes build inclusive workplaces. Topics include:\n\nAEFN’s purpose and offerings\nThe importance of inclusivity in business\nEmployment support and talent matching\nAccessibility audits and job posting accessibility\nSupport resources for inclusive hiring\nCapacity-building events\nEDIA as an ongoing journey\n\nIndigenous Elders & Cultural Learning Project Presentation:\nHeather Black – Coordinator, Indigenous Elders & Cultural Learning Project, Community Futures Treaty Seven\nToday, I am honored to introduce the Indigenous Elders & Cultural Learning Project by Community Futures Treaty Seven. This initiative features six remarkable Elders from each of the First Nation communities within Treaty Seven. Drawing upon their extensive life knowledge and experiences, they will develop cultural learning resources for job seekers, career practitioners, and employers. Over the next three years, our aim is to integrate Indigenous perspectives, values, and cultural insights into workplace policies and daily practices. As we begin this introductory phase, we are eager to share the project’s goals and engagement strategies with all of you.\nCFT7 would like to recognize The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.\nThe 2024-2025 Disability Employment Engagement Event (Bridge to Inclusion) is also sponsored in part through a grant from the Government of Alberta – Indigenous Relations Employment Partnership Program.\n
