DESCRIPTION:Community Futures Treaty Seven (CFT7) would like to invite you to the continuation of the series “Bridge to Inclusion” Virtual Presentation, on Thursday, March 27th from 9:00am to 11:45am.\nAgenda:\n\n9:00 AM – Welcome Address\n9:15 AM – Presenter: Lisa Moon, Regional Director, NPower Canada\n10:00 AM – Break\n10:15AM – Presentation: Calgary Fire Department\n11:15 AM – Closing Remarks, Survey\n\nPresentation: NPower Canada\nNPower Canada is an employment solution organization. In this session, Lisa will provide information about NPower Canada’s holistic dual client service model (for job seekers and employers) that results in employment success.\nPresentation: Calgary Fire Department\nCalgary Fire Department will be presenting on the development of the Inaugural CFD Indigenous Camp which took place in spring of 2024. The presentation will provide reasoning and values behind the goals and objectives and why the fire department decided on pursuing and support this initiative. Topics that will be presented on and discussed include:\n\nAcknowledgment of department’s history and reconciliation\nTactics and strategies utilized to help build a successful experience for participants\nThe benefits and necessity of relationship building throughout the process\nEducation and support for participants and the mentors involved\nBarriers, challenges and lessons learned throughout the process\nThe successes from the 1st year and future opportunities\n\nThe presentation will be followed by a Q & A session to hopes to gain and share knowledge about the camps impact and collaborate with other employers and individuals regarding indigenous employment opportunities.\nCFT7 would like to recognize The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.\nThe 2024-2025 Disability Employment Engagement Event (Bridge to Inclusion) is also sponsored in part through a grant from the Government of Alberta – Indigenous Relations Employment Partnership Program.\n
