DESCRIPTION:\nWe are pleased to invite you to the Stoney Nation Employment and Training Services Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) & Indigenous Skills, Employment and Training Career Fair. This event brings together Indigenous-Stoney job seekers, employers, and community partners to celebrate and advance inclusive employment opportunities.\nDisability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) promotes employment inclusion and increased participation of workers with disabilities in Alberta’s economy. DEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and supports employers in practicing inclusive hiring. Every October, community stakeholders and the Government of Alberta partner to deliver activities and events around the province that:\n· increase the employment opportunities for people with a disability within Alberta’s business community\n· increase employer engagement, build business strength and capacity, and raise awareness around the recruitment and retention of people with a disability\n· increase inclusion through collaboration by connecting service providers, Indigenous organizations, government, and businesses\n· highlight employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity, and encourage other employers to embrace their recruitment strategies\n· help create a more consistent message from service providers when engaging employers to hire people with a disability\nThis year, Stoney SETS with partnership with Community Futures Treaty 7, Alberta Employment First Network are pleased to host this years DEAM/ISET Career Fair Event.\nEvent Details:\nWhen: Wednesday, October 29 2025, (9:00AM Set up) 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM\nWhere: Bearspaw Youth Center, Mini Thni, AB\nWho should attend: Employers seeking qualified Indigenous talent, inclusive hiring partners, and organizations focused on disability-inclusive employment\nWhat to expect:\n1.               On-site recruitment and networking opportunities\n2.               Access to a diverse pool of Indigenous job seekers\n3.               Indigenous Capacity Building Keynote Speaker, Stoney Success Stories, and entertainment.\n4.               Information booths on training pathways, apprenticeships, and supports for disability employment\n5.               Opportunities to share your company’s DEI and accessibility initiatives\n6.               Hot Lunch Offered.\n\nWhy Attend:\n1.               Connect with motivated candidates who bring strong work ethics, resilience, and unique perspectives\n2.               Enhance your workforce with Indigenous talent and inclusive hiring practices\n3.               Build partnerships with Stoney Employment and Training Services and local community resources\n4.               Demonstrate your commitment to Disability Employment Awareness Month and Indigenous empowerment\n5.               Learn more about Stoney Nation.\n\nWhat we ask of Employers & Stoney HR Departments:\n1.               Company Display Booth – Share any accessibility accommodations your booth may require (e.g., physical access, quiet spaces)\n2.               Bring current job openings, requirements, and a short company overview\n3.               Prepare to discuss entry-level to skilled positions, apprenticeships, and long-term career pathways\n4.               Consider carrying out on-site or staged interviews during the event (subject to timing)\n5.               There are no fees for Participating vendors all we has is bring a Door Prizes\n\nRegistration:\nPlease RSVP by RSVP deadline; October 10st 2025 to secure your booth space.
