YEG – Career 360

The Gateway Association and MCHB is so excited to share the save the date for Career 360! Building on the success of our Career Fair last year, we’re doing it again – bigger and better! The Career 360 takes a 360-degree approach to supporting individuals in finding good-fit jobs with an emphasis on preparedness and connection.

Gateway Association Alberta and the Multicultural Health Brokers have collaborated this year on the intersections between newcomers to Canada and people with disabilities; this event will be the culmination of all our shared learnings. October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM), and we are holding a two-day event to bring awareness and get some folks jobs.

DAY ONE – is all about employment readiness. Job seekers are welcome to take advantage of programming designed to increase their confidence and preparedness. With resume review, mock interviews, self-directed learning, interview outfits, and headshots, this day is all about getting ready to make a fantastic first impression.

DAY TWO – employers and job seekers come together to learn and connect! We’re bringing back the breakout sessions that were so successful last year and building on what we learned. We will be welcoming disability advocates, brokers from MCHB, and employers who are doing incredible things in inclusive hiring to talk about what they do and give ideas to employers on how to do better in hiring inclusively. We will also hold space for on-the-spot pre-screening and interviews!

If you are an employer who wants to be part of a ‘not-your-typical career fair’ that stresses learnings as much as we do outcomes, or if you are an individual who wants to help with resume review and mock interviews (the more volunteers we have, the more individuals we can help!), keep October 16 & 17 blocked for the DEAM Career 360!
