Equitable Employment Leadership Summit 2025: The Power of Mentorship
Equitable Employment Leadership Summit 2025: The Power of Mentorship
Join us for the 12th Annual Equitable Employment Leadership Summit (EELS) 2025, formerly known as the Mayor’s Luncheon, now celebrated in Calgary, AB.
This year’s theme is Mentorship, exploring how effective mentorship practices create equitable employment opportunities and inspire lasting change within our workplaces and communities.
This summit will bring together leaders, employers, service providers, and changemakers from across Alberta for meaningful conversations on how mentorship can serve as a powerful catalyst for inclusive and sustainable employment.
Indigenous, Newcomer, and Disability-Inclusive Mentorship Perspectives
A key highlight of this year’s summit is that the conversations will be led by community elders from Treaty 7’s Indigenous Circle, ethnocultural communities, and the disability community. These knowledge holders will guide discussions on mentorship, sharing traditional, lived, and professional experiences that highlight the importance of intergenerational and cross-cultural learning.
Our Indigenous Circle will offer a space to explore mentorship through an Indigenous, Ethnocultural, and Disability lens by community elders and leaders. This discussion will honor traditional ways of sharing knowledge, guiding the next generation, and fostering reciprocal relationships within professional and community spaces.
Additionally, we will focus on the role of mentorship in immigrant and newcomer communities, settlement organizations, and disability inclusion, ensuring that mentorship models are accessible, culturally responsive, and inclusive for all.
