Reducing Barriers in General Federal Elections

Alberta Employment First Network in collaboration with Elections Canada is hosting a webinar series focused on reducing barriers in voting, working the polls and running an election.

These sessions are targeted towards employment service providers, people with disabilties and anyone who would like to learn how Elections Canada is focusing on accessibility.

First session :  Reducing Barriers to Voting in General Federal Elections 

September 17th at 11:30 am – 12:30 pm MST on Zoom

Our goal is to overview the programs and tools in place to reduce barriers to registering and voting for people with disabilities. By the end of this session we hope you will feel confident about registering and voting in general federal elections, communicating this information to your network, or hosting Elections Canada to give this workshop to your community. The goal of this last session is to overview the programs and tools in place to reduce barriers to running in a general federal election for people with disabilities. By the end of this session we hope you will feel confident communicating this information to your network or hosting Elections Canada to give this workshop to your community. Attendance of previous sessions are not required.

Second session : Reducing Barriers to Working at the Polls in General Federal Elections

November 17th at 11:30 am – 12:30 pm MST on Zoom

Our goal is to overview the programs and tools in place to reduce barriers to working at the polls for people with disabilities. By the end of this session we hope you will feel confident about applying to work during for general federal elections, communicating this information to your network, or hosting Elections Canada to give this workshop to your community. Attendance of previous session is not required.

Third session : Reducing Barriers to Running in General Federal Elections

December 13th at 11:30 am – 12:30 pm MST on Zoom

The goal of the last session is to overview the programs and tools in place to reduce barriers to running in a general federal election for people with disabilities. By the end of this session we hope you will feel confident communicating this information to your network or hosting Elections Canada to give this workshop to your community. Attendance of previous sessions are not required.

Live closed captioning and ASL interpretation is available.
