Take Five Feminist Minutes Film Festival

Please join students and faculty from the Gender and Sexuality Studies Program for a unique event.

Students from our Feminist Media Arts Activism course have created their own five-minute films in the spirit of Studio D, the National Film Board of Canada’s legendary feminist film studio. Everyone is welcome to drop in to view the films and hear the student’s introduction to what inspired them.

Local filmmaker, Studio D alumnus and past Director of NuTV, Michelle Wong will be our special guest. Michelle will speak on her experiences building a successful career as an artist and feminist, the importance of Calgary as a national hub for feminist filmmakers, and why we need to build on the legacy of Studio D for a vibrant tomorrow.
